Oh, Arlene!

I’m Arlene. I draw comics…sporadically.

There Goes Christmas

leave a comment »

Who breaks her leg at Christmas? Me. That’s who. Yeah. It really sucks. But it could have been worse. I’m fortunate to have such a sweet and supportive husband. And even though I’m stuck in bed during my favorite time of year, I’m not gonna let it get me down!

I hope you all enjoy the holidays and have a happy, healthy new year.

Christmas

This will be our Christmas card this year.  The first version of this image I painted with acrylics and for some reason it scanned horribly. So, I redrew it and colored it on my computer. I think it’s sweet. But I admit I’m really rusty. I haven’t drawn in weeks. It makes me feel like a schlub.

Zombie anniversary…

My friends, Sully and Emma were married around Halloween. I usually make them a Halloween/Anniversary card. This year I made them zombies. I hope they like it.

The Last Tootsie Roll

It’s a little messy because my eyes were tired. Plus I used Photoshop to place the name “Tootsie Roll” on the candy cause it scanned so poorly. But I thought it was pretty silly, so…

Collaboration

leave a comment »

My Name In VainI collaborated on this comic with my friend Terry Tyson.  I made three versions of this comic. This one is by far my favorite. I drew it with my Rotrings as opposed to the crow quill (dipping pen) and I have to say it made all the difference. I still need to work on making boxes, talk bubbles and my ferkakta lettering!

All I’ve been doing is doodling. I like the Batman though.
